The gardens in the Mount Macedon area in October are Wow! Just so tranquil with vast expanses of yellow, waving daffodils, carpets of bluebells and bronze hedges - surrounding large expanses of very green lawns. A bench allowed one to ponder over the beauty before your eyes. Being a Rosarian I love the roses offered by the Adelaide Hills Gardens.

Beautiful, beautiful! Living on a farm that has suffered from four years of drought with ridiculous high summer temperatures, this country offers the dream garden experiences .A Regional Rose Convention to the North Island exhibited the rose as a large perfect cone of delicious ice cream. Having visited the South Island for gardens also, this country offers large country gardens with a babbling stream flowing through it - bordered by weeping trees with iris up to the waters edge. A duck or two upon a reflective lake. Aaah! |

Again on a World Rosarian Tour held in Osaka we saw huge, well manicured gardens. Even though it rained almost continually one was enthralled by the temples within its iris bound lake. The garden parks were full of interesting twists and turns over quaint Japanese bridges, moss covered rocks and bonsai trees being carefully tipped. A challenge for the photographer, juggling ones backpack, a small clear plastic umbrella, plus trying to keep your camera dry to capture that perfect bloom. |
